Dystopy

Dystopy is one of the two projects made by Campus ADN 2015-2016 cohort. It was carried out by a team composed of level designers, scripters, modelers and animators in 15 weeks, in order to allow students to experiment what a real production is like.

It's a beat em' up style game in which the player controls Sasha, protected by her mech R0-X4-N3 (commonly called Roxane) with which she fights. Some parts of the game requires Sasha to come out of the robot to activate ingredients and open the path.

Sasha (avatar)

-
Basic movement;
-
Jump;
-
Wall Jump;
-
Interactions with the lever ingredient and R0-X4-N3.
Characteristics:

-
Her controls can work with either a controller or keyboard.
-
Her wall jump can be done in two ways: she can jump from a wall to another when the player only presses A/space bar, and she can climb the same wall when the player directs her in the same direction she's already facing when pressing the jump button.
-
When she's near of Roxanne, pressing the D-Pad down button or Q triggers the avatar switch; she enters the robot and her game object is deactivated until the next switch. The player can now control Roxane.
-
She's motion driven when she's on ground.
Long-range Grunt (Enemy)

-
Stays on place or patrols;
-
Approaches the avatar if she enters its detection limit;
-
Settles and starts to shoot lasers;
-
Reacts to attacks and gets back up.
Characteristics:

-
Their attack pattern is two normals shots, followed by a charged one.
-
They are motion driven, which means that their position on ground is determined by their animation root motion.
-
They work using a basic state machine.
